Past Performances

Aug 31 – Leonard Oakes Steampunk Festival – Orleans Co. Fairgrounds

We love this festival!  It brings together people from all over the Western New York region and showcases their creativity.  If you love dressing up, the Victorian era, sci fi, or just a quality festival with lots to do and see, you’ll find this place a hoot. There are top-notch vendors, food trucks, and entertainment, not to mention all of the fanciful costumes.  This year is the first year that the event will be at the Orleans Co. Fairgrounds rather than at its namesake winery, but there’s sure to be a plentiful supply of the famous Steampunk cider all the same. As for our performance, after 4 years of this event, we think this one is going to be our best yet.  We’ve got steampunkier costumes, a new taller rig, and lots of new shenanigans and stunts.   It’s the whole kit and caboodle, so don’t be a noodle and miss this

Aug 25 – Elmwood Ave Festival for the Arts – Buffalo, NY

We were so happy to be back at Buffalo’s best arts festival!  Perhaps we’re slightly biased, but we love that EAFA features performing artists so prominently.. The 2019 EAFA performance was choreographed by Jess BG, as described below: Buffalo Aerial Dance (BAD) performs cirque-style aerial arts on a variety of apparatus including aerial silks and trapeze.  This year’s piece centers on female strength and empowerment.  They demonstrate the limitless capabilities of women through physical feats of strength and flexibility. Their piece also symbolizes intangible support for one another and womankind through physically supporting each other in the air.

August 23 – Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls (US)

We are so grateful to have been a part of the Old Falls Street Summer Concert series for Summer 2019! August 23 was our final performance of the summer, and we drew inspiration from famous movie dance scenes for a feel-good set that was a crowd favorite.   Scenes that we recreated were a mix of the classics: Footloose, Grease, Center Stage, Pulp Fiction, Moulin Rouge, Flashdance, Donnie Darko, and of course Dirty Dancing!

Aug 17 – Old Falls Street – Niagara Falls, US

For our third show of the Old Fall Street summer series, we embodied the elements Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water in an original B.A.D. creation.  The four elements harmonized, flowing, floating, flower-izing and flaming into a wonderful show that stopped pedestrians on the street in their tracks to watch!

July 19 – Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls (US)

If you know anything about Western New York in mid-July, you know the weather is very hot and humid, but that didn’t stop us from rocking our third set on Old Falls Street.  The evening’s musical headliner, Zak Ward Trio, is known for bringing the classics of rock’n’roll to the stage and we did the same–just up an extra 20 feet or so in the air.  Dr. Suess might’ve said that the riffs were catchy, the melodies steady, the energy contagious, and the aerialists courageous, and that sums it up nicely.  Also, it was tons of fun to wear these black and silver outfits designed by Eric Gorsuch.

July 4th Weekend – Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls (US)

We pride ourselves on versatility with themes, covering everything from jungle animals to the roaring 20s, but we decided to give the people a classic circus-style show for the nation’s birthday.  With carnival-inspired music, stripey costumes, and gravity-defying feats, we delivered one of our most high energy performances to date.  It felt great to show off some homegrown WNY talent to the out-of-towners visiting the falls for the holiday.

June 21 – Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls (US)

It was a happy coincidence that the season opener of the Old Fall Street Summer Outdoor Concert series fell on the first day of summer, which also happened to be an absolutely perfect 75 degree day.  We kicked off the show with snappy moves on silks and trapeze, and the soulful sounds of the Old School B Boys kept the night going.  Taking a cue from the B Boys, we infused our aerial set with a heavy dose of classic jams, including a few about

June 8 Beer-cus at Resurgence Brewery, Buffalo, NY

We helped one of our favorite local breweries ring in 5 years of success in Buffalo’s booming brewery business.  Their name says it all: this is a celebration of the resurgence of local business in the Queen City. We had a blast dangling from the brewery ceilings in all of our circus finery.  And the guests were living it up with live music and specialty beer releases. More pictures to

June 8 – East Aurora Music Festival

Each year, the East Aurora Music Festival provides the perfect opportunity to get out of the city, celebrate the start to summer, and enjoy great live entertainment.  2019’s EAMF delivered all the energy of a boisterous festival mixed with the homespun charm of East Aurora. We performed in front of our favorite backdrop – wide open blue skies, but they definitely came with a side of wind.  Although it does make for some nice dramatic imagery, silks in the wind are notoriously difficult to dance on.  The trapeze artists had no problem hitting full stride though!

May 10-11 Student Showcase

Spring isn’t the only thing in the air! Our students twirled and soared in our semi-annual student showcase! We have so much talent we couldn’t pack it all into one evening, so we hosted shows on both Friday and Saturday. Each show featured unique acts from a variety of aerialists including our performance team, our fabulous students, and our youth programs, displaying feats of skill and grace.   Photos coming
